One of our lovely volunteers Belinda Hughes summarised the joy of the Chrismas lunch event.
What a brilliantly festive morning we had at the St Petroc’s Community Space Christmas lunch on Friday 22nd December. We were joined by over 60 members of our community. Adults and young people, Families, grandparents with grandchildren and our lovely over 65’s.
There were crackers adoring the tables and nativity colouring kits for the children or arty adults to enjoy. Steaming cups of tea, coffee and hot chocolate were available for all, along with soft drinks. There were also homemade mince pies and shortbread and bowls of sweets for the children. Scrumptious pigs in blankets rolls were served; filled with sausage, bacon, and stuffing with the option of cranberry sauce as an extra festive touch.
The wonderful volunteers had organised a free Christmas tombola for all, with a gift to suit. The happy responses to these thoughtful and useful gifts were just lovely. The room was filled with the sound of Carol singing as people joined in, along with the extra pleasure of the children. Singing with Sue & Revd Elaine.
A wonderful time was added to with a free precooked Christmas dinner and pudding for all to take away with them. What a fantastically festive time was had by all.
