More than 30 people sang at the first session of Autumn Song on Wednesday 4 October, marking the start of the second year of Bodmin Way Community Choir.
New and existing members of the all-age choir enjoyed singing Christmas songs ready for November and December performances.
Autumn Song runs each Wednesday, 5pm to 6pm, in St Petroc’s Parish Centre, until 22 November (excluding 25 October).
The choir has been invited to sing around the Christmas tree for Bodmin Lights Switch On, in front of Shire Hall, on Friday 24 November, just as we did for the first time last year.
Bodmin Way Community Choir is hosting a Gospel Choir on Saturday 28 October.
The afternoon workshop is the place to be for anyone who’s always wanted to sing gospel. Trainers from Callington Community Choir will share gospel songs and singing techniques with us. Some of those songs will be included in the evening concert, sung by the workshop attendees, in St Petroc’s Church, at 7pm, for everybody to come along to.
The concert’s repertoire is likely to include Joyful Joyful, Happy day, Lean on me, Broken, Fix you, Something inside so strong, I will follow him, Ain’t no Mountain, You raise me up.
A Gospel Choir concert is not a performance, as singers are sharing a musical and beautiful gift with their voice, unique to each member. The individual voices become one voice as they combine and are heard together.
Treat yourself to an afternoon workshop, evening concert or both!
Tickets are available at bodminway.org/box-office or book your place at info@bodminway.org or 07713 288 340.
